Regulation

something that we talk a lot about here is regulation.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

when our nervous system has done its very best to adapt to everything that life has brought towards it, we may notice it becomes more challenging to take the reigns over our emotions and our feelings. responses become reactions. we move and think and act in haste. life happens around us.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

children look to mom and dad for guidance on how to gain insight into their own emotions and feelings. they look to us to regulate how they are feeling. to give them the nurturing eye contact reassuring them that they're okay, to provide that physical touch and compression to signify safety, to rock them back and forth to shut down the sympathetic response that kicked on for him or her because, quite literally, everything is...new!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

we notice some of our biggest wins with entire families who get under care. as the nervous system of mom or dad becomes more regulated, more harmonious, that of baby is has much greater capactiy to follow suit.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

we are so interconnected, it is absolutely mindblowing. the bond of mom and baby being unlike that of any other.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

how are you regulating yourself today?
