Our Capacity to Be Self-Loving

bell hooks says that "most people do not grow up learning that the work we choose to do will have a major impact on our capacity to be self-loving".

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

but what if we WERE taught that?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

would we make the same choices in the micro and the macro?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

would we communicate with ourselves in the same manner?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

would we practice gentleness with ourselves and our feelings?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

would our moments still look and feel the same if we looked at each and every one of them as an opportunity to practice more self-love, ultimately leading to further alignment with who we really are?

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

not only vocationally, but the work we do on ourselves every moment and every day...matters. it matters a lot.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

the very situations in which we find ourselves in our lives can either provoke or prohibit a deeper sense of either loving or loathing of self.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

we would really love to see you loving yourself.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

day in

and

day out.
